Heresy

For the works and blog of Allan Maxwell, a writing forum, and good fiction from the web.

The Collectorium - Great stories, articles and facts from the Worldwide Web...

The idea of this page is to highlight some of the fantastic authors and contriubtors to the web, with links to their works. Most, if not all of them have influenced me, or made my reading life more enjoyable.

I hope you enjoy them as much as me!

Warhammer 40,000 stories - mainly from the Black Library website

Eversor , by Dienekes.

Top notch drama about an Imperial assassin. The writing in this story is fantastic, and its seen from the conception of an assassion to the said killer taking on missions! Dramatic stuff!

40k Halloween Writing Competition 2008, winner:

Sholto, with White Noise

This is a weird, scary and clever 40k horror. Just read it!!!

Pit King , by Bad Badger.

This is a fantastically written piece, based on the life of a pitfighter in the grim future. I liked this because of the characters and the way it was written, but also, selfishly, because it was slightly (and I mean, slightly) inspired by one of my 40k stroies 'Torben' (which is still ongoing on the BL website!). I write for the pleasure and for others to read it and enjoy it, not for money, so for someone to have that spark of creation from one of my ideas is the greatest of compliments!

Finch , by Squiggle.

One of those stories that defines a period in life - for me, my life writing as a novice Fan Fic writer. Squiggle, now the forum fan fic governor, was one of the first people I read and was influenced by years ago. An all round damn good writer! This is his best work in my opinion, with one of the most iconic Fan Fic Charaters to date as the main protagonist.

Illuminus by Little Pete.

One of the longest and most popular stories from the BL website. Pete has a solid and consistant style of writing and pushes the boundries of the fan fic forum - really, eyes widen and breath is held during his stories - certainly someone for the future and more than worth a read!

Death Korps: Conscript , by Richard Marsden.

This is the first story, sorry, novel, in the Death Corps series written by Richard on the web. It was so good I nominated it for the Stories of Renown thread on the BL site. He has a great cast of characters, and a stunning writing ethic, and vision, which humbles my meagre attempts at writing. It's one of those proper Imperial Guard stories that so many have enjoyed! And, this is only the first novel, check out the BL website, or his personal one, for more info.

Here's his website: The Works of Richard Marsden

His Purpose , by Chun.

My first review for the BL newsletter and interesting take on timetravel and the 40k universe. A bold story with strong characters. That's all I'm going to say - read it, and my review, on the BL website!
